Navy Children School, formerly known as Naval Public School, saw its inception on 2 August 1965. Its humble beginning took root within a spacious hall, where it merged with Nathanian School, which was being run in the present lawn area. It began as a primary school and embraced approximately 600 children into its fold. The hall was divided into two sections, to accommodate Lower Kindergarten (LKG) and Upper Kindergarten (UKG) students. Initially, the school functioned with a team consisting of a facilitator and an administrative staff member.
Today, NCS Delhi stands as a premier institution in the chain of Navy Children Schools under the aegis of the Navy Education Society. It is administered by a Managing Committee set up in accordance with the Delhi School Education Act, 1973.
