Vice Admiral Suraj Berry, #COP at Naval Headquarters interacted with students of #NCS Delhi on 12 September 2023, as part of the school’s “Eminent Persons’ Talk Series”. The event was also attended by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, #CPS ; senior naval officers and teachers. In his insightful discourse, Vice Admiral Berry delved into India's historical mastery of the seas, highlighting the nation's rich maritime legacy. From ancient maritime expeditions to India's status as a modern maritime power, he provided students a fascinating journey through time. He also explained the contribution of maritime activities and the blue economy in nation-building, highlighting the role of Indian Navy in protecting national interests. The talk proved to be an inspiring and educating experience for young minds of the NCS. The Admiral went on to tell the children that learning is a continuous process that extends beyond the confines of the classroom. He encouraged them to build friendships, inculcate values, dream big and pursue their passion. Talking about internet and the social media, he advised them to be aware of their pitfalls. He concluded by emphasising the need for children to be disciplined and committed citizens and develop the right attitude, so that they take our country to even greater heights.
