*World environment* *day celebrations*
Students and staff of Navy Children School celebrated the 50th world environment day on 5th June 2023 .
To commemorate the day, a pledge campaign was undertaken by the Principal, teachers, students and staff of the school to reduce their carbon footprint, practicing waste reduction and promoting environmental awareness within their communities.
Three students of eco club along with the two eco club incharges also attended the celebrations at Thyagraj stadium from 1030 to 1300 hrs. The chief guest of the programme, the Delhi CM, Mr.Arvind Kejriwal provided valuable insights and inspiration to a huge gathering of enthusiastic students ,volunteers and teachers from various eco clubs, government organizations, RWA etc. to curb plastic pollution.
Nukkad nattak on plastic pollution, short films and songs were presented on the theme - Beat Plastic pollution to engage and educate the attendees about practical steps they can take to contribute to ecosystem restoration, environment conservation and making conscious choices to reduce the plastic pollution.
The celebration served as a platform for sharing knowledge, fostering dialogue and inspiring collective action towards a sustainable future.
